How do I know what properties are available?

The Council does not own any properties.  However, the Council has nomination rights of between 75% and 100% of vacant properties owned by Housing Associations within the borough.

Vacant properties are advertised on the Hertsmere Homes website.  You can only place bids on properties that are the right size and type for you and your household.

Available properties will be advertised daily and applicants can bid for up to 3 properties at any one time. All vacant homes will be advertised in the first instance for a minimum of 5 days. This will always include a Saturday and Sunday, some properties may be advertised for longer.

Once advertising is finished, a shortlist is produced detailing all applicants who have expressed an interest in that property.

The Council will select the successful bidder and they will be offered the property.
